program notes:

imma is an ever-slowing accumulation of delicate sonic textures that challenge the listener's audibility. Taking inspiration from the ambient sound world of underwater environments in the Arctic Ocean, imma draws upon sound profiles and natural environments we can only imagine, environments which, as humans, we do not have access to. Attempting to weave and unearth the complex noise profiles found in deep ocean, imma highlights spectral identities that differ based on each location's ground formation, water depth, weather conditions (wind and waves), and sea ice concentration. By bringing such environments to the surface, imma invites the listener to become immersed in an artistic rendition of sounds unheard.
